Congregation Berith Sholom Choir in performance at the Troy Victorian Stroll in 2014
The award-winning Berith Sholom Choir made its debut in 2000. Our choir is composed of professional, semi-professional and amateur musicians who share a joy of music and a common goal to make worship more meaningful and memorable through the incorporation of music. The Choir’s primary purpose is to provide musical enhancement for services. We sing for all the High Holy Day services as well as for other holiday and special event services throughout the year, such as Berith Sholom’s 140th Anniversary and our annual Shabbat Shira. The Choir is often invited to enhance a Bar or Bat Mitzvah service. We are also occasionally invited to bring our Music Lover’s services to other area congregations. The choir’s annual performance for the Troy Victorian Stroll is a highlight of the year.
In 2004 the Choir was honored to perform as a featured new choir at the prestigious North American Jewish Choral Festival. We are the only small-congregation choir ever to receive this distinction.
