Note the interesting subject, and the similarities to the previous. This is called “phishing” and, as the local Road Runner website says, is based on “social engineering techniques” — what we used to call the work of a “con artist.” Beware!

Dear Sir/Madam
You may be surprised to receive this letter from me since you do not know me personally. For the purpose of introduction, I am Ibrahim Abdullah the son of Dr. Ahmad Abdullah a wealthy miner/politician in Mogadishu Somalia who was recently murdered in our home with my mother and 3 little brothers and sister in the present conflict in my country between the militiamen loyal to the main clan in this part of the country – the Hawiye.

I got your contact through the internet based on our urgent need for a dependable and trustworthy foreign partner. Hence I decided to write to you. Before the death of my late father just 3 weeks ago, he had taken me to Abidjan Cote d’Ivoire to deposit the sum total of US$11.5 million (Eleven million, Five Hundred Thousand United States Dollars) in one of the private banks, as he foresaw the looming danger in Mogadishu. This money was deposited in my name as the eldest son and should not be release to me alone unless with the company of my late father or a business partner. This amount was from his personal sales of Uranium.

The present conflict in my country came When the Union of Islamic Courts’ leaders were forced out of Somalia in December after six months in power, the militants among them promised they would start an insurgency war against the Ethiopian army on which the Somali transitional government depends. A lot of people have been killed because of this fragile rule of the transitional government after Islamists were ousted from Mogadishu which my father was unfortunately one of the victims.

It is against this background that, I fled Mogadishu for fear of my life after losing my family and currently staying in a remote country side of Abidjan. I am planning to leave the country and seek political asylum in Europe or America and I have decided to move my family wealth to Europe or America.

As the eldest son of my father, I am saddled with the responsibility of seeking a genuine partner that could assist me without the knowledge of my government who are bent on taking everything I have got. I am faced with the dilemma of moving this amount of money out of Cote d’Ivoire for fear of going through the same experience in future, since both countries have similar political history.

I am now seeking for a partner whom I have to entrust my future in his/her hands. To this end, I need your assistance to stand as the beneficiary of the account.

This is because I am under restricted from collecting the money from the bank unless I provide my father or a business partner.

If you are willing to assist me to move this fund out of Cote d’Ivoire, you can contact me on this number +22502012351 which I have only for you to enable us discuss further.

Thank you, many Allah’s blessings to you.

Yours Faithfully,
Ibrahim Abdullah.
