Two generous donors, whose names won’t be remembered except by a grateful few, have given the School of Sacred Music an endowment.  And in return, it will now be named The Debbie Friedman School of Sacred Music.

It is just right — she sent her music out into the world to draw people back to Judaism, and God, and spirituality; and our chazzanim, our cantors, have that as one of their most powerful jobs.

And it is such poetic justice one can hardly stand it.

I am in awe and in tears.
