Then for you, “RAP-ENTANCE: The High Holy Days Remixed” by Rabbi Alex Kress  As he says, Welcome from Rabbi Alex. Click on Side A (Rosh HaShanah) or Side B (Yom Kippur). Use the buttons, not the graphic imagesGrab something to write with and something to write on, settle yourself for 45 minutes or an hour, and listen, feel, reflect.

SIDE A (Rosh HaShanah)   or   SIDE B (Yom Kippur)

Every heard Johnny Mathis sing Kol Nidrey???  I hadn’t either.

Or did you know that Strange Fruit, a song about lynching most famously sung by Billie Holiday, was written by Jewish song-writer Abel Meeropol?  No, I didn’t either.  And I’d never heard this contemporary recording by Jill Scott, either.

Other artists include Kamasi Washington, Kendrick Lamar and CeeLo Green, Donnie Trumpet and the Social Experiment, John Legend, John Batiste, Kanye West, and several other artists I’m not familiar with but found quite moving.

How did I find this?  The ReformJudaism.org feed on the front page of our website.  Here’s the link I followed, to the ReformJudaism page that describes Rabbi Kress’s project.

NOTE as of 1 Sept 2020:  If you navigate to the general intro page, where you’ll find the “Welcome friend” above, make sure to click on the SIDE A/B buttons not the images, because the image links are broken.
